Eid holiday flight deals: 30% off

Giving additional options to UAE residents who may be thinking of a last-minute overseas trip for the Eid Al Adha holidays next week, local airlines have slashed their fares by as much as 33 per cent.

Sharjah-based Air Arabia is offering a 33 per cent discount on one-way fare from the UAE to 43 of its destinations. These are all-inclusive and need to be booked by today for travel between September 24 and October 4, 2015.

You could also take off with Etihad Airways at discounted prices. The airline is running special fares for some destinations in its business and economy class. This sale is valid until September 17, for travel until December 10, and so coincides with the holidays staring next week.

Emirates airline is offering special fares until September 17, for travel between September 3 and December 10, to several of its destinations worldwide.

Qatar Airways is also offering deals on a few destinations. You need to book by September 17 for travel between September 25, 2015 until May 31, 2016.

Official holidays next week are yet to be announced in the UAE, and several residents are yet to finalise their holiday plans. Many schools have, however, announced a two- and in some cases a three-day holiday.

Saudi Arabia has declared that Thursday, September 24, will be the first day of Eid Al Adha.

The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said announcement was made in a statement by the Supreme Court in the Kingdom.

The statement said Arafat Day will be on Wednesday, the ninth of the month of Dhu Al Hijjah, corresponding to September 23 and the first day of Eid accordingly will fall on Thursday, the tenth of the month of Dhu Al Hijjah, corresponding to September 24.
