Acting on various complaints reported by residents about the behaviour of gardeners in its communities within Emirates Living, Emaar, the master developer, has issued a general notice to landscaping companies.

“We would like to inform you that many private landscaping staff members have been observed committing acts of an illegal nature in the Emirates Living communities, violating both community rules and UAE regulations and on many occasions residents and community security staff have reported such incidents to the police,” read a circular sent to the residents.

To deal with this problem, the developer has sent a general notice to all landscaping companies which are registered in Emirates Living, briefing them about the rules and regulations they need to follow.

The notice stresses that landscaping staff are not permitted to dispose of debris and landscaping waste anywhere within community common areas and are not supposed to create disturbance or misbehave in anyway within the community.

Keeping safety issues in mind, Emaar has now instructed that companies or gardeners undertake work in only those communities for which they have a valid entry permit.

In addition, staff members must wear the correct uniform with company IDs while working within the community and should strictly observe working hours that are from 7am to 5pm – with any particularly noisy work being avoided between the hours of 7am - 9am and 1pm - 3pm.

Any damage to property or amenities in the common areas will be chargeable to the company responsible for causing it, inclusive of fines, which will be at the discretion of management.

All landscaping companies and staff are expected to abide by the above and failure to do so will attract relevant penalties and may result in access restriction of your appointed landscaping service provider from entering and working in Emirates Living, said Ahmad Al Falasi, Executive Director at Emaar Communities Management.
