'Emarat Al Youm' evolves as smart newspaper

In the line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai - to turn services into smart operations, Arabic daily ‘Emarat Al Youm’, has launched the first phase of a project that will turn the offering into a ‘smart newspaper’.

Sami Al Reyami, Editor-in-Chief, Emarat Al Youm said the paper has a new layout for its electronic portal to keep pace with rapid developments in electronic publishing.

He added that the move aims to reach readers faster and easier, with the opportunity for them to interact.

He pointed out that the new layout of the website is very flexible, particularly in terms of formats, aligning it with all web browsers and smart devices.

Al Reyami confirmed that the newspaper launched a new service – ‘Khabrona’ (Inform Us) – as an app for smartphones and tablet devices,  on Android and IOS platforms.

The second phase will include the addition of a new property to the ‘Khabrona; service so that readers can send photos, videos and sound recordings via the newspaper website.

Maithem Al Anbary, editor of the website says that invitations will be sent via email to readers of the site to further involvement.
