Emirates 24|7 readers 'hot' on dashboard reading
That it is extremely hot in the UAE at the moment is hardly debatable; anybody who stepped outside yesterday must have felt the simmering heat.
Today is not forecast to be any different.
One measure of the heat that UAE residents are strongly relying on is the dashboard reading.
While some dashboards have shown the temperature as above 50°C, the National Center for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) forecast for the weather in the UAE today is maximum of 49°C (minimum not lower than 25°C).
Umm Al Zumool, a town in the south-west of Al Ain, was the hottest place in the UAE on Tuesday with a temperature of 50.9 C, according to media reports.
Numerous residents followed with independent weather reports. A Dubai-based radio station posted an image of a thermometer measuring 53°C, not declaring where it was measured.
On an online discussion forum where the temperatures in the emirates of Dubai were discussed, the 50 mark was exceeded as well.
“Yes, the shade temp both at my house and on my car temp is 51c...,” wrote a forum member.
Facebook users posted images of their Samsung screen displaying the measured temperature at moments.
Kinana Homsi-Mardini posted a screen shot displaying 47°C measured in Dubai, adding that it was 53°C earlier.
The temperatures will remain high during the next two days.
