Emirates hiring engineers for A380

Emirates airline is hiring licensed aircraft engineers for its A330/A340/A380/B777 planes.

“We are seeking licensed aircraft engineers (A&C and/or Avionics) to work in our ‘state-of-the-art’ maintenance facility. We require experienced engineers within base heavy maintenance; base light maintenance; line maintenance and for overhaul workshops (including cabin, avionics, engine, powerplant, wheels and brakes, NDT and structures),” says the company.

To be considered for this position you should have at least 5 years’ experience as a certifying engineer on any of the following Emirates fleet types (including A330, A340, A380 and B777). You should have also completed an approved apprenticeship in aircraft maintenance from a recognised organisation and be fluent in English.

The salary has not been specified but the airline promises to offer an attractive tax-free salary, paid in dirhams, the local currency of the UAE. Besides generous travel benefits normally associated with an airline, this managerial role also has excellent leave, health care packages, accommodation and more.

Licensed aircraft engineers also get engineering license pay, which is a variable monthly cash allowance paid for licences held and utilized, the payment is capped to a maximum of 8 licences utilised per month.

Productivity pay is also given, which is a variable monthly cash payment for ‘additional’ hours worked up to a maximum of 24 hours per month.

And there is also a flying pay, payable for engineers who volunteer to go with additional flights on their off-days.

However, the eligibility of these benefits is dependent upon the requirements of the role and the applicant’s technical qualifications.
