Rick Pudner, the enigmatic CEO of Emirates NBD, Dubai’s largest bank, has submitted his resignation after seven years in the job, the bank confirmed on Sunday.
In an official statement sent by email, Emirates NBD spokesperson commented that Rick joined Emirates NBD more than seven years ago and as Group CEO.
“He has contributed to all the achievements of the bank. This includes the completion of one of the largest mergers in the region, overcoming one of the most difficult financial crisis that hit the world and the take over and integration of Dubai Bank, just to name a few,” the statement read.
The bank did not clarify if a new leader has been identified, but said that Pudner is expected to remain with the bank until the end of this year, when he will hand over the reins to a “new leader” as per the bank’s succession planning process.
“He is expected to complete his tenure with Emirates NBD at the end of the year; then he will hand over the role to a new leader as part of the succession planning process and the organisation’s strategy for change and transformation. We take this opportunity to thank Rick for his continued significant contributions and wish him all the best in his future endeavours,” it said.
