Emirati dies after car collides with light pole

A 30-year-old Emirati died in a serious accident when his sports car caught fire after colliding with a light pole on Wednesday night in Kalba.

According to Kalba police station operations room received a call at midnight about an accident on Corniche Street opposite Emirates Post Kalba branch and rushed ambulances and police personnel to the scene.

It revealed that the UAE national, MHM, was driving his sports car at a fast pace on the Corniche Road but couldn’t control his vehicle on the sharp curve and flipped over before crashing into a light pole.

The vehicle caught fire after hitting the pole. The driver died on the spot.

Police appealed public to take precaution and pay attention while driving.
