A 55-year-old Emirati man died while praying at a mosque in Ras Al Khaimah just an hour before his son’s wedding, a newspaper reported on Friday.
Mohammed Al Hayas had told his son he was coming to his wedding but wanted first to go to the nearby mosque to perform evening prayers.
“I was outside the house getting things needed for the wedding when one of my brothers phoned me and said my father collapsed in the mosque,” the dead man’s son Jassim said, quoted by the Arabic language daily Emarat Alyoum.
“I thought he had some breathing difficulty of a muscular convulsion resulting from carrying heavy stuff as he had enjoyed a good health….we called an ambulance which rushed him to the hospital but he was already dead.”
Dubai-based Emirat Alyoum did not mention what caused Al Hayas’s death.
