A 53-year-old Emirati choked to death while having his dinner at a hotel apartment in Fujairah, a newspaper reported on Tuesday.
The man, identified only as DMA, was eating at his apartment in Dibba on Sunday night when food got stuck in his throat and he could not swallow it, Emarat Al Youm said.
“He was rushed to the hospital by an ambulance but died on the way after food blocked his breathing system,” the Arabic language daily said.
It quoted police as saying they had opened an investigation to determine the exact cause of death whether criminal act is involved.
