An Emirati woman was charred to death in a traffic accident in Ras Al Khaimah on Monday.

The 42-year-old woman motorist was on Lowaa Road when her car collided with a truck and burst into flames, and she was burnt to death inside.

Her car swerved suddenly and rammed into the truck, which was driven by a 31-year-old Asian. And under the impact of the collision, it once again swerved and hit an iron barrier before bursting into flames, according to Col. Yaaqoub Abdullah Al Haddad, Head, A l Digdagga Police Station, RAK.

The truck flipped to its side but the driver escaped without injuries, he added.

Police rescue teams and ambulances rushed to the site immediately but the woman motorist was found dead.

Police urged motorists to abide by traffic rules and respect speed limits.
