Emirati youth dies in Sharjah road accident

A 22-year-old UAE national died and another Emirati seriously injured in a road accident in Sharjah on Monday morning.

The accident happened on the Sharjah-Kalba road in the emirate’s central region.

Colonel Harran Mubarak of Sharjah Police said Dhaid police station was informed at around 10am about the accident. The vehicle, which met with the accident, was a Lexus saloon car.

A police patrol reached the scene of the accident and brought both the occupants of the car to Dhaid Hospital. The driver succumbed to his injuries in hospital while the other person, who was also severely injured, was admitted to the intensive care unit.

Initial investigations indicate that excess speed and sudden deviation caused the accident.
