Emiratis to get 48,000 plots

UAE citizens will need about 48,000 plots of land for building houses in the emirate of Sharjah until 2025, according to Salah Butti Al Muhairi, head of the Sharjah Directorate of Town Planning and Survey (DTPS).

13,616 residential plots of land in the emirate were allocated to citizens from 2006 to 2012, he added.

Al Muhairi said this during a meeting of the Sharjah Advisory Council which discussed DTPS policies.

Al Muhairi said city-wise break-up of residential plots of land to be distributed till 2025 is as follows: 27.830 plots in Sharjah City; 600 in AlHamriyah; 6,800 in Khor Fakkan; 5,859 in Kalba; 1,938 in Dibba Al Hisn and 5,036 in Al Dhaid and Al Madam, Maliha.

Al Muhairi said 6,272, 6,236 and 445 plots of land were granted to citizens for commercial, industrial and agricultural use respectively during the years 2007 to 2012.
