The Court made the ruling in a case involving a government department employee who filed a complaint against his employers for sacking him after he was absent from work for nearly a month to be with his ailing family abroad.
The Court upheld previous sentences by two courts, which rejected his complaint on the grounds the labour law authorized employers to expel employees in case they exceed their permitted holiday by one month.
“The absence of month from work amounts to resignation especially that this employee did not provide convincing reasons for his absence,” the Court said.
