Energy drink ‘Monster’ is safe to consume

The Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority has said the energy drink ‘Monster’ is safe to drink, after lab tests were done on random samples of the product in the capital and Al Ain.
The authority’s confirmation came after some media reports of deaths in the USA after consuming this drink.
Mohammed Jalal Al Reyaysa, Director of Communication and Community Service, said: "The laboratory conducted a series of chemical analyses and microbiological samples on the energy drink called ‘Monster’ after the media reports and found it safe.”
However, the label on the product did not have information about the maximum daily dose. Also, information about the caffeine content, though it is within permissible limits, is not given in Arabic, he added
Reyaysa called on consumers to read the food label of each product, and make sure there is information in Arabic as well as other languages.
