Esam Issa Al Humaidan, Dubai Attorney-General, has inaugurated the "Child’s Room" at the Family and Juvenile Prosecution. The purpose of this room is to enable easy and friendly conversations with children, away from mental pressures and standard interrogation techniques. Family and Juvenile Prosecution has prepared an environment that protects the privacy of the child, who will be accompanied by female specialists in child behaviour to monitor their reactions, according to the highest international standards and practices. This initiative aims to protect children’s rights.

Al Humaidan also inaugurated the "Family Conciliation Room", which supports humanitarian relations among members of a single family. It aims to solve any disputes and disagreements between family members in cases where Dubai Public Prosecution (DPP) prefers to settle disputed in an amicable way, without transferring them to the courts.

Al Humaidan held the inauguration during his visit to Family and Juvenile Prosecution, while accompanied by Yousuf Hassan Almutawwa, Assistant Attorney-General; Khalifa Rashid bin Dimas, Senior Advocate-General, Head of Technical Bureau of the Attorney-General; and Mohamed Rustum Bu Abdulla, Advocate-General and Head of Family and Juvenile Prosecution. They inspected a number of programmes and projects that were launched last year, and reviewed developing plans and initiatives for this year to develop work mechanisms and ease the judicial and administrative procedures with partners.

The DPP’s attention for these projects is due to its concern for achieving happiness and stability in Dubai. He also stated that the welfare of families leads to the improved welfare of society.

The aim of creating a reconciliation room is to solve domestic disputes between spouses and family members, and to spread the spirit of tolerance in line with the government's vision, and to encourage settlements between spouses, protect the family and avoid divorce. The consequences of such cases are the neglect and displacement of children. The rooms are a judicial mechanism to save and protect families from separation and divorce, and for the quick settlement of cases and disputes. All relevant parties may review decisions through free will or through suggestions from public prosecution, therefore consolidating human relations, instead of filing cases that may end with the conviction of one of the parties.
