Faraj Fund, EAY renew pact to assist needy inmates

The Ministry of Interior (MOI) represented by Faraj Fund and Dubai Media Incorporation (DMI) represented by Emarat Al Youm, today signed and addendum to renew MoU between the two parties for another year in a third year consecutively.

The MoU aims at helping the needy inmates at the Correctional and Penal Institutions and their families nationwide to settle their outstanding debts and release them from prisons.

It was signed at the General Headquarters of Abu Dhabi Police by Lt Col Ahmed Saeed Al Badi, Director General of Faraj Fund and Adel Mohammed Al Rashid, Abu Dhabi editor of Emarat Al Youm .

In accordance with the MoU, both parties will coordinate and cooperate in campaigns to help the inmates and their families nationwide. The move follows an approval from the Ministry of Social Affairs to the request made by the MOI in this respect.

Faraj Fund was established on 26 June 2009 through Ministerial Decree No. 300 for the year 2009 from the Minister of Social Affairs.
