Fazza Championship for Falconry kicks off

The Fazza Championship for Falconry has started in Al Ruwayyah area of Dubai.

The falconry tournament is the second championship of Fazza Heritage Championships which initially started at the end of last year as part of Fazza Championship for Yullah.

The events of the first round of Falconry Championship will last until January 17, while the second round will take place from January 20 to 22 at Saih Al Dahal.

Abdullah Hamdan bin Dalmook, executive director of Fazza Championships, said: "Fazza Championships will be a distinctive event this year as the tournament lasts for 125 days allowing new categories of society to take part in the championships that include ‘yullah’, falconry, shooting, hunting and diving."

There is a slight change in the falconry championship this year about the distance which the falcon will fly during the championship. This year, the falcon will fly 500 metres instead of 400 metres as in the past years.

The Falconry Championship lasts for eight days where Day 1 is for "Pure Gear", Day 2 for "Pure Shahin", Day 3 for "Tabaa Gear", Day 4 for "Gear Shahin", Day 5 for "Free Gear, 3 Quarter and 87 Pure Gear", Days 6 and 7 for foreign participants and the last day will be for conclusion and award ceremony.
