The Federal Supreme Court headed by Judge Mohammed Al-Jarah Al Suwaidi, held its first trial of those accused of joining Al Nusra Front and Ahrar Al Sham organisations.

Earlier the Public Prosecution charged 15 people of joining, collecting funds and transferring them to Al Nusra Front and Ahrar Al Sham, terrorist organisations abroad and subsidiaries of Al Qaeda.

It also charged them with manufacturing of explosives without being licensed by a competent authority, and polluting environment by exploding banned hazardous substances.

The public prosecution also charged one of the accused of possessing unlicensed firearm, and another for running and managing a website to disseminate ideas of Al Qaeda terrorist organisation.

The court decided to defer the session to September 23 to hear all the pleadings.

Attended by representatives of media and civil society organisations, 11 suspects out of 15 appeared in the court.
