A Filipino was admitted to hospital in Sharjah with serious stab wounds and police are investigating whether he tried to commit a suicide or was attacked.

Newspapers said doctors performed an urgent surgery on the man to save his life as he remained unconscious after the incident.

Police said the incident took place at a workers’ living quarter in the industrial zone 2 and that they have opened an investigation into the case.

“Police are investigating whether the Filipino attempted a suicide or criminal act is involved in the incident,” 'Emarat Al Youm' daily said.
