Finance manager found murdered in Karama flat

A finance manager of a top company in Dubai has been found stabbed to death in his Karama apartment.

Dubai Police are reported to have arrested a former colleague, N.

His wife was in India, who got worried on not receiving the regular calls from Sashi Kumar, 45, Group Finance Manager at a top company. She phoned her husband's office to be told he had not arrived for work. A company staffer went to his apartment and found the door locked and TV on inside. He alerted thw police, who broke open the door and found the body.

The deceased had been working in Dubai for more than 10 years. His family was living back home. 

Relatives said they are informed by police that a murder suspect is in their custody. He was found with the help of images on the closed circuit television in the home.

Sashi Kumar used to call up his wife, Geetha, every night and the last call was on Sunday night.

Relatives said N was working for a rent-a-car company and Shashi Kumar gave him a job in his firm. Later, he went back to India and studied computers and returned to Dubai. He used to pester Shashi Kumar for a job, relatives said. The deceased even helped him build a house back home in Kerala.

“We are still in the dark about the murder. Our priority is to repatriate the body first,” said a relative in Dubai.

Company officials could not be reached for comments. Shashi Kumar, son of Raghavan, hails from Trichur district of Kerala. N also hails from the same place. Sashi Kumar is survived by his wife, Geetha, son Venkat and daughter Nilanjana.
