Financial assistance for Indian expats seeking UAE amnesty

The Indian government has exempted the payment of Dh10 per applicant payable towards to the Indian Community Welfare Fund (ICWF), according to Indian embassy in Abu Dhabi.

Indian workers who are seeking to avail an ongoing amnesty scheme in the UAE will also be extended financial assistance for the issue of emergency certificates.

"As per the decision of the Government of India, the Embassy will be reimbursing the agency handling visa and immigration procedures, Dh40 per applicant applying for emergency certificates under the amnesty scheme towards photo, form filling, service fee, etc, which the applicant will be paying to the agency BLS International," said a statement from the embassy.

The amnesty, which runs for two months beginning December 4 is meant for violators of immigration and residency laws in the UAE.
