Fire destroys 6-floor building in Sharjah

A huge fire destroyed a six-floor building in a residential area on King Faisal Street in Sharjah on Sunday.

The General Directorate of Civil Defence in Sharjah said the fire did not result in any human casualties because the building was evacuated after fire broke out.

The blaze was brought under control before it spread to nearby buildings.

Sharjah Civil Defence said it was informed of the fire at about 10pm on Sunday. When civil defence teams arrived at the scene, the fire was spreading quickly. But the fire was brought under control and put out by 2am on Monday.
