A warehouse in Sharjah was gutted when a fire broke out on Wednesday late afternoon.
The blaze broke out in Industrial Area 10, with Civil Defence crews in Sharjah arriving on the scene shortly after it was reported.
No casualties have been reported in the fire, with cause of the blaze still under investigation.
Civil Defence authorities issued a statement, saying: “A fire was reported in Sharjah Industrial area 10, in a warehouse holding medical materials, which was brought under control shortly.”
Commuters reported seeing a plume of black smoke from as far as Dubai, with residents in the area stating roads leading up to the fire were cordoned off by authorities. The road opened to regular traffic later.
