Meanwhile, earlier in the week the Traffic and Patrols Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police had issued a rule stating that trucks and large vehicles are forbidden to drive on internal and external roads during fog, saying they can only continue their trips after clear visibility returns.

Lt. Colonel Jamal Salem Al Ameri, Head, Public Relations Section, Traffic and Patrols Directorate, Abu Dhabi Police, said, “Trucks weighing 2.5 tonnes or more are not allowed to enter Abu Dhabi City during foggy weather conditions and peak traffic hours - between 7.30am-9.30am and 1pm-3pm.

Relative humidity is also expected to increase during the night and early morning hours with the chance of fog formation, reports the weather bureau.

The minimum temperatures in mountainous areas is forecast to dip to 4degree centigrade, while internal areas will experience 8 degree C with a maximum of 24 degree C.
