The remarkable progress the UAE is currently witnessing in all walks of life, but mainly in economy, culture and media, would not have been achieved if it had not been for the vision and direction of the prudent leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of Emirates, affirmed Dr. Sultan bin Ahmad Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Media Council (NMC).

Dr. Al Jaber was speaking while attending today the opening session of the 15th Arab Media Forum (AMF), being held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum from 10th to 11th May, 2016, at the Dubai World Trade Center, under the theme ‘Media for Good’, in the presence of VIPs, prominent Emirati, Arab and international media elites, journalists, writers and intellectuals.

''The AMF provides an important regional and international platform for professionals in the print and audio-visual media to discuss latest industry trends and ways of improving their performance so as to present a rich, omnipresent content that is characterised with credibility, particularly in view of the rapid developments in the digital media,'' Dr. Al Jaber said.

He commended the significant efforts being made by the Dubai Press Club (DPC) for the good organisation of the AMF, which has carved a prominent place for itself over the last 15 years, and continues to excel and shine this year through innovation in both shape and content, so as to broaden the scope of dialogue to catapult the Arab media to new heights.

This year's theme ‘Media for Good’, serves the UAE's stature as a leader in humanitarian work and of bright examples over the years, which have contributed towards alleviating the suffering of many vulnerable peoples of the world, the minister noted.

He said he was convinced that the audience would be the first beneficiary of these media forums as they finally seek to improve their performance, enhance credibility and respect the mind of the Arab recipient from different age groups, cultural backgrounds and geographical regions.
