Free medical camp on April 29 in Sharjah

The Dept. of Islamic Affairs & Awqaf, Sharjah, Kerala Muslim Cultural Centre the Ministry of Health (MoH) and Aster Medical Group will jointly conduct a free medical camp at the King Faisal Mosque premises, Sharjah on April 29, 2013.

The camp to be inaugurated by Sheikh Abdullah Bin Muhammed Al Qassimi, General Authority of Islamic Affairs & Endowments in presence of MOH & DHA officials offering services like Blood Pressure, Sugar, BMI and Smoke analyzer with free consultation and subsidized continuing care for the participants in this camp. This is a continuation of the public welfare programmes carried out by the Department of Islamic Affairs and Awqaf Sharjah. Earlier campaign was to clean various Mosques in the Emirate.

In anticipation of an increase in summer related illness the camp will be open to all nationalites. A doctor’s panel of General Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Dermatology, Dental and Pathology from the ASTER Medical Centre Sharjah and Ajman branch of DM Healthcare. This initiative is in connection with the World Health Organization’s focus on High Blood Pressure for this year’s World Health Day marked on the 7th of April.

The campaign will be carried out through Dr. ASTER Mobile, a CSR initiative of DM Healthcare, in partnership with DHA (Dubai Health Authority), DCAS (Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services) and (RTA) Road & Traffic Authority. Spreading awareness through Safety Tips for Road Accident Prevention STRAP campaign, BLS (Basic Life Support) through the BEAT campaign and Quit Tobacco and Smoking Cessation through the STUB IT campaign is being extended to the public, supported by the MOH.

Commenting on the camp, Dr. PMM Syed, Group Medical Director, ASTER Medical Centre said“Dr. Aster Mobile Clinic has been moving around in various neighborhoods of Dubai, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates extending services to make people aware of the importance of preventive healthcare.  We are pleased to extend the health and safety awareness camp to the residents of Sharjah in association with KMCC the leading Socio-cultural association, with the great support of Awqaf and Ministry of Health. Our aim is to ensure that people are aware of their health and know how to take care of it. We strongly believe that prevention is better than cure in building a healthy society.”
