Free parking in Abu Dhabi today

The Department of Transport (DoT) in Abu Dhabi announced Mawaqif services in all surface public parking bays will be free of charge on Thursday, October 15, 2015.

Parking services will be free from midnight (12am) Thursday, October 15 until 7.59am Saturday, October 17.

The DoT recommends drivers to avoid parking vehicles in prohibited areas including residents’ bays from 9pm to 8am.

Mawaqif Customer Care Centre branches in Electra, Muroor Road, Al Falah Street, the Central Market, ADCCI, ADCP, and Etisalat will remain closed on Thursday and will resume work on Saturday.

DoT Customer Care Centre at the DoT’s headquarters will also remain closed on Thursday and resume work on Sunday.

Free parking in Dubai tomorrow

The Roads and Transport Authority has announced work timings for  various services during the New Hijri Year’s holiday (1st Muharram 1437H corresponding to October 15, 2015), covering paid parking, vehicle testing and registration centers, but without impacting any changes on the timetables of public buses, metro, tram or marine transit modes during the holiday.

Moaza Al Marri, Director of Marketing and Corporate Communication, RTA Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector, said: “All parking areas in Dubai Emirate will be free of charge during the New Hijri Year’s holiday (1st of Muharram 1437H) except for the Fish Market parking lot and the multi-level parking terminals (applying 24-hour daily tariff), such that the fees system will be reactivated on Saturday 3rd of Muharram 1437H corresponding to  October 17, 2015.

“As for vehicle testing and registration centers, services will cease during the holiday except for the Al Qusais Quick Registration Centre and the Dubai Mall Platinum Registration Centre, which will both remain open during the holiday.
