Free parking in Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman during New Year weekend

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that all paid parking zones in Dubai will be free of charge during the long New Year weekend.

It will be free parking from January 1 to 8am on January 4.

In a press statement, Moaza Al Marri, director of marketing and corporate communication at the RTA said, "All paid parking zones in the Emirate of Dubai will be free of charge starting from January 1, except for the Fish Market parking lot and the multi-level parking terminal, and the paid parking system will be reactivated starting from Sunday January 4."

Even Ajman and Sharjah have announced similar plans for the long weekend. The municipalities of each emirate issued statements that parking will be free from Thursday to Saturday.
