Gang attacks, robs man on Dubai's Bank Street

Two Nigerians assaulted a compatriot in the street, stole Dh10,500 cash, gold necklace and watch and ran away, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

SMO, 25, partner, MOM, 32, computer engineer, assaulted Christian Shokoma and stole from him.

The 23-year-old sales representative arrived in Dubai International airport on September 23 and was standing in the parking of Palm Beach Hotel on Khalid bin Al Walid street waiting for his friend.

Eight people came to him to beat him, stole from him an ran away. “A CID came to him and I told him that one of the assailants had long hair… a while later the policeman came to me with the same man. I recognised another assailant when shown in a parade,” he testified.

Corporal Adnan Ali, testified that he saw the victim at Palm Beach Hotel with his dressed dirty. “Asking him about that, he told me that 8 people attacked and stole from him and ran away behind the hotel. I rushed behind the hotel and saw the men, they ran away when they saw me but I could catch one of them who was recognised by the victim,” he testified.
