Gobal Village, which opened to public on Sunday, October 21, held a special event for children with special needs in celebration of Eid.

Coinciding with the Eid in Dubai celebrations, Global Village festivities will continue for two weeks until November 3, 2012. It also has extended opening hours until 2am during the weekends which fall within the Eid celebrations. Meanwhile, during these two weeks, Global Village will be open to all and the traditional Monday Family Day will commence only after November 2.

Meanwhile, the special event on the opening day saw participation from a large number of special needs centres and schools, including parents and teachers.

The festivities kicked-off with a show by the famous Polynesian Tamure group from the Cook Islands. The prominent Shiamak Davar Bollywood Group was also part of the entertainment schedule. A workshop was designed for the audience after each cultural entertainment show in order to engage the children in the moves so they can learn a few steps from the cultural shows for self expression. Filled with joy, the crowds cheered as they enjoyed this enriching experience.

Towards the end, children and attendees were invited to watch the world’s premiere 3D Mapping Show, especially produced for Global Village and a Dubai first. Amid an atmosphere of delight, the special event brought joy to a large number of children with special needs and their parents.

With more than 25 restaurants, kiosks that serve food, drinks and commodities, 37 pavilions representing more than 65 countries as well as ample parking space, VIP Packs - which can be purchased from the management’s office, valet parking service and many other benefits, Global Village has come a long way to provide an unforgettable experience to all its visitors.
