Gulf drug dealer's life sentence cut to 3 years

An appeals court in Fujairah reduced a life sentence against a drug dealer from another Gulf country to three years in prison but kept an order to deport him from the UAE.

The court also slashed a fine against the defendant from Dh50,000 to Dh20,000.

Police had caught the defendant red-handed following a tip off that he had a quantity of drugs and intended to sell them in the emirate.
