Hamdan leads 'Spirit of Union' celebration marking UAE's 43rd National Day

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, led the ‘Spirit of the Union’ celebrations marking the UAE’s 43rd National Day.

Organised by the Dubai National Day Celebrations Committee near Burj Al Arab, the celebrations witnessed massive official and public participation.

Sheikh Hamdan congratulated the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; Their Highnesses Members of the Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates; and General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on the occasion.

Sheikh Hamdan said the public’s participation in the ‘Spirit of the Union’ mirrors the community’s awareness about the significance of the occasion.

Sheikh Hamdan said the National Day celebrations must continue throughout the year, and it should stand as a lighthouse for development, modernisation and innovation.

The Union, he said, is an “innovative idea” introduced originally by the late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and endorsed by the late Shaikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum and Rulers of the Emirates.

Fireworks filled the and highlight of the event was the spectacular 3D show against the Burj Al Arab.

The Dubai National Day Celebrations Committee stated that the design of the Spirit of The Union celebrations reflects values of allegiance and marks the achievements of a young country that competes with the world’s most advanced nations.

The committee comprises of General Secretariat of Dubai Executive Council, Dubai Police, Dubai Municipality, Dubai Roads and Transport Authority, Dubai Culture, Community Development Authority, Knowledge and Human Development Authority, Department of Economic Development, Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing and Dubai Media Incorporated.
