'Haunted' Filipina jumps to her death

A 30-year-old Filipina housemaid, believing she was gripped by jinn (spirits), waited for her employer in Kuwait to leave her room, then went to the balcony and jumped down from the fifth floor, a newspaper reported on Monday.

Her Syrian employer said she had seen the maid just minutes before she hurled herself down, adding that the woman had not slept for nearly a week.

“The Syrian woman told police that her maid was suffering from psychological problems,” the Kuwaiti daily 'Al Anba' said.

“She said that the maid had imagined that she was chased by jinn and this made her unable to sleep for nearly a week.”
