How UAE teachers can become Cambridge-certified

Cambridge International Examinations (CEI) is offering teachers across the Middle East the prospects of improving their skills at its annual Global Learners programme events. CIE offers international educational qualifications and programs for learners aged 5 to 19. It is currently hosting a series of Global Learner events for teaching professionals between April 17 and 24. The UAE session are being held in Dubai today (April 18). In a media statement, CIE said that the Global Learner Roadshow is designed to engage with schools and teachers across the Middle East. “As a not-for-profit organisation, we at Cambridge continuously strive to provide high quality programs that help unlock learners’ potential,” said Waseem Al Hanbali, Regional Director for Cambridge International Examinations. “We understand the importance of teachers in delivering such opportunities, and driving growth for our students, and therefore strive to equip them with pedagogically sound teaching methods through our professional development programs. The Global Learners program is one such tool. It provides a detailed and hands-on approach which takes the knowledge and skills of teachers to the next level enabling them to further help their students succeed.” It added that the sessions will provide teachers with 21st century teaching methods and skills to help them engage better with their students in Math and English lessons in particular. The UAE session is being led by Helen Rees Bidder and Mike Ollerton – both leading education specialists working with educational boards in the UK and globally. Designed to be interactive, the sessions include group and individual activities enabling Cambridge teachers at different stages, to work together and learn different approaches that will challenge students to think more creatively in the classroom. The sessions are being held across Kuwait, Egypt, UAE, and Bahrain and form a part of a larger initiative by Cambridge to provide perennial support, training and development for its teachers, students, and parents.
