Hubby on trial for beating wife in Fujairah

A man is standing trial in Fujairah on charges of beating up his wife but he said he acted in self-defence after finding a knife under her pillow.

Police arrested the husband after his wife reported that he beat her up and inflicted injuries on her body, the Al Khaleej daily reported.

“He confessed to hitting her but said it was in self-defence. He told police she had tried to assault him with a knife and later he found that she was hiding a knife under her pillow,” the paper said, adding that the husband has decided to divorce his wife.
