Man downs during fishing
A 26-year-old Pakistani’s body was found after 9 days who downed in the sea while fishing during the bad weather conditions.
The man – who worked with the Ras Al Khaimah police rescue team – was reported missing on June 27 after he went on a fishing trip alone during his break time, Gulf News reported.
An official said: “First we thought he might have gone to Dubai or Sharjah because that is what he would normally do during his offdays. But we didn’t get any response even when we called his mobile phone. Then one of his colleagues reported that he saw him preparing his diving equipment. We sent police patrol looking for him at Khor Khuwaire and found his car parked near the beach.”
The official told the paper that his clothes and fish hunting gun was found on the beach. Police said the weather was rough that day with strong winds and high waves.
Police said the body was found by divers trapped among coral reef and rocks.
