Indian PM Modi to visit UAE on August 16

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit the UAE on August 16 and 17, 2015, local media have reported.

While official confirmation is still awaited, ‘Gulf Today’ reported that preparations are under way for the visit.

PM Modi is expected to arrive in Abu Dhabi on August 16 and will visit Dubai the next day.

Gulf Today also reports that a community reception is being organised on August 17 at the Dubai Cricket Stadium grounds.

Modi will be the first Indian prime minister to visit the UAE after Indira Gandhi, who visited the country in 1981.
