A cleaner was found guilty of attempting to steal an iPhone he found on flydubai craft and received 6 months in jail followed by deportation, by the Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance.

According to the records, GLM, 23, was caught hiding an iPhone in his socks at the checking point while he was leaving the airport, and so was accused of attempted theft.

Upon leaving the airport, the checking point beeped every time he was asked to pass through after removing stuff he was wearing, one after another.

“As the checking gate beeped while he was passing through, I asked him to take off his shoes and to pass again. He did that and the gate beeped so he was asked remove his belt… and then to remove what was in his pocket,” testified Corporal Sale Mohammed.

The gate’s light was blinking at the bottom. So he was asked to enter the room for a personal search. An iPhone was found hidden in his right leg socks, added the policeman.

GLM admitted to the accusation.
