An Iranian was jailed for three months and followed by deportation for impersonating as his dead brother.

RMQ, 62, jobless, posing as AMQ, went to the Iranian Consulate and the Lands department in Dubai to collect compensation of a house removed by the Municipality in Satwa.

He also brought two witnesses and got a status certificate issued. He used the status certificate and submitted it to the Land department claiming to be the owner of the house in Satwa.

He forged the documents and collected a compensation grant from the government.

When late AMQ's 35 year old daughter visited Dubai and inquired about her father's financial settlements she discovered the forgery by her uncle.

She also found out that her uncle has given away the house to her cousin’s husband.

After thorough investigation it was found from the Dubai municipality reports that a government house in Al Satwa was allocated to AMQ in August 1967.

AMQ applied for a map of the land on which he planned to build the house and received the map in April 1988.

The land is not listed in the compensation records of the municipality and its file does not include any compensation documents until the date of issuing this report, November, 23, 2010.

However, the accused confessed before the prosecution that he posed as his dead brother before the Iranian Consulate with two false witnesses.

He also admitted to receiving compensation related to the house owned by his brother using the forged document.
