An Italian military training aircraft heading home crashed into the waters of Dubai, on Friday. Both crew ejected safely, officials said.
"The plane crashed shortly after taking off en route for Italy after taking part in the air show," an aviation source told AFP without speculating on the cause of the accident.
"The pilot and co-pilot ejected and were rescued and taken to a hospital for routine examinations," added the source who spoke on condition of anonymity.
A civil aviation official confirmed the accident had taken place but was unable to provide any further information.
