Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority (Jafza) has inroduced e-licence, its latest value-added service to customers, which simplifies all licence-related processes to a quick-response online transaction. Free zone licences will be processed only online in the future.
The scheme, facilitated through the portal of Dubai Trade, the leading integrated online solutions provider and business facilitator under Dubai World, will enable customers to renew their licences or get new ones without having to physically visit at Jafza. Only the basic documents need to be presented at the office.
Licence renewal forms, procedures and directions are all available on the Dubai Trade Portal www.dubaitrade.ae.
They can also use the e-payment option and receive the renewed licence copy online on demand. Automated licence reminders and notifications will be sent through e-mail, fax or SMS.
Launched in March 2010, the e-licence service has already evoked tremendous response. More than 1,000 e-licences were renewed online in the first month. Jafza is the second authority in Dubai to offer this online service after Dubai Department of Economic Development. It is the first to provide e-licence copies that can be printed and used.
Abdulla Al Jasmi, VP Commercial Registrations, UAE, said: “E-licence is another step in Jafza’s continuing efforts to make things easier for our customers.
This will have great positive impact not only for them, but also for Jafza. Apart from saving turnaround time and effort considerably, it will also boost Jafza’s effort to limit paper work and documentation processes to the minimum.
The entire licencing procedure will be streamlined, increasing administrative efficiency to a much higher level. As always, we are committed to offer the most customer-friendly services.”
The e-licence adds to Jafza’s already available package of online services.
They include bank guarantee calculation, customer contact updates, NOC and other services.
