Jail for using someone else’s driving licence
A Chinese visitor who submitted a driving licence belonging to another person received three months in jail from the Dubai Criminal Court.
KS, 42, confessed to the accusation before the court and when he was suspected by a policeman carrying out a regular inspection on the road near the International City.
The Chinese driver was asked to show the car’s registration card and his driving licence when stopped by a police patrol in the International City.
KS submitted to the policeman the registration card but was hesitant to present the driving licence, Adel Saleh, 43, policeman, testified before the prosecution.
Saleh suspected the driver who at the end submitted a driving licence.
When asked about his name, the driver told a name different than that on the licence. On being asked if the driving licence belongs to him since it was not clear, the driver answered affirmatively.
When the policeman asked the driver for another identification document, KS confessed his crime and told him that the licence was not his.
