Jose Thettayil sex scam: Kerala's political split

Indian police in the South Indian state of Kerala are searching for a laptop used by a lady to record her in a compromising position with a politician and his son in the state.

The 30-year old women recently released the video with scenes of former Transport Minister Jose Thettayil and his son Adarsh with her.

She has also accused Thettayil of going back on the promise to marry his son to her in exchange for repeated sex.

The police team had found that the CD was edited to incorporate six different clips and wanted to access the original unedited footage of all the recordings.

The woman has claimed that she had given her laptop to Thettayil, following which the police team led by SP Ajitha Beegum raided Thettayil’s house last evening.

"The laptop and the webcam was handed over to him (Thettayil) after he promised to get me married to his son," the women said in interviews to local TV news channels and also confirmed that what she handed over to cops was the edited version.

Thettayil has been missing ever since the allegation surfaced last week. While the police have registered a rape case against the father and son duo, legal experts are of the opinion that the women had consensual sex with the two men and there was an attempt to blackmail the political leader.

Meanwhile, political controversy has escalated in Kerala, with the state unit of the Janata Dal supporting Thettayil, while the Leader of Opposition VS Achuthanandan has asked the former minister who is currently a member of the legislative assembly to resign from being a people`s representative.

He was elected from the Angamali constituency.
