Khalifa congratulates Mohammed

President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has congratulated His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Godolphin’s African Story winning the 2014 Dubai World Cup title.

The Dubai World Cup was held at the Meydan Racecourse in Dubai.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed along with Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, received the Dubai World Cup from Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance.

Also present was Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai.
 

Godolphin’s African Story flexed its muscles and galloped swiftly to claim the 2014 Dubai World Cup title; the crown jewel of the Dubai World Cup Carnival held at Meydan racecourse, Dubai.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed received a wave of congratulations from sheikhs, officials and attendees at the mega sporting event.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed lifted the Dubai World Cup amidst cheers and applause from the huge crowd following the event.

Speaking to media, Sheikh Mohammed said, “I am proud and happy to see this multitude of visitors who came here to witness Dubai’s annual horse racing festival which attracts the best horse owners, breeders and trainers from all over the world.”

The Group I 2000-metre Dubai World Cup is the richest horse race in the world with a cash prize of $10 million.
