LG's 'knock on' iPhone, Galaxy
LG has announced that it will introduce its popular Knock On feature to its older models next month.
Currently, the advanced version of the feature - which allows a phone owner to create a custom unlock by just knocking on the phone in a particular combination - is available only on the LG G Pro 2.
LG on Tuesday announced that by April the feature will be rolled out into older models through a firmware update.
“As announced at Mobile World Congress last month, Knock Code which is available on the G Pro 2, G2 mini, F Series and L SeriesIII will now be made available on earlier LG smartphone models via a firmware update starting in April,” a statement by the company said.
Owners of LG G2 and G Flex in specific countries will be the first to receive the Knock Code update.
The feature was first unveiled along with the LG G2 and later improvised with the LG G Pro 2 at the WMC.

The feature allows owners to power on and unlock their G Pro 2 smartphones in one easy step by tapping their screens using one of 86,367 “knock” combinations.
According to LG the algorithm and advanced hardware allows a user to enter the knock pattern on any area of the screen ― whether the display is turned on or off ― using anywhere from two to eight taps.
According to LG more than 50 per cent of participants in a recent survey have selected Knock Code as the most anticipated feature of G Pro 2.
Details of availability of the Knock Code upgrade to local markets including here in the Middle East will be announced during later weeks.
