Lubna Al Qasimi: UAE founded on mutual respect for all nationalities, religions, cultures

Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of State for Tolerance, has stated that the UAE is founded on mutual respect for all nationalities, religions and cultures.

The statement came during her participation in a ceremony at the Christ Church Jebel Ali in Dubai, where she stressed that the UAE founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and his brothers, the Founders of the UAE, were keen to make the UAE an oasis of giving, love, loyalty and tolerance.

She noted that the Emirati people have followed this methodology, as established by the Founding Fathers, in light of the wise directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Their Highnesses the Rulers of the Emirates.

"The UAE's leadership, government and people respect all communities, regardless of their race, colour, religion or social status, and this social methodology was established in the constitution, which states that all individuals are equal and have the freedom to practice their religious rituals without violating public order or public morals, so all the UAE's residents can enjoy their rights and freedoms based on international conventions," Sheikha Lubna added, while highlighting relevant national legislation that promotes respect for all religions, such as Federal Law No.02 of 2015 on anti-discrimination and hatred.

The Anglican clergy praised the UAE's leading and significant role toward its residents in promoting the culture of respect, where they live in dignity and peace, along with the harmonious interactions among all nationalities and cultures.
