Maktoum issues decision on DIFC Authority

Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and President of Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), has issued a decision appointing Essa Abdulfattah Kazim as Chairman of the Board of Directors of DIFC Authority.

The decision also named Hussain Al Qemzi, Hamad Buamim, Salem Ali Al Sharhan, Rashid Al Jarwan, Abdulla bin Kalban and Hesham Al Qasim as members of the DIFC Authority Board of Directors.

On behalf of DIFC Authority, Essa Kazim expressed his deepest appreciation to Sheikh Maktoum for his trust, continuous support and guidance that have been key to DIFC’s ability to maintain its position as a leading global financial hub and contribute to enhancing global confidence in Dubai.

He further said that DIFC owes its success to the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who continues to inspire them to integrate innovation and creativity into policies and strategies to enhance the nation’s economic growth and progress.

Kazim highlighted DIFC’s economic significance and its plans to reinforce its position as an international financial hub, according to its 2024 Strategy.

He further added that DIFC is set to triple in size, which will strengthen its efforts to become one of the world’s top 10 financial centres.
