Dubai Court of First Instance has acquitted an Emirati of threatening to kill his sister for not returning to stay with the family.

According to the Prosecution sheet, AT, 33, has verbally threatened to kill his 29-year-old sister, who works in a hospital and stays at the staff accommodation provided by the hospital. He allegedly said: "Consider your life is over.”

"The court has also dismissed the civil lawsuit lodged by the claimant," said Presiding Judge Al Saeed Mohammad Barghout while pronouncing his verdict on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the girl said: "I moved out of the family house because I had disputes with my brothers. I stayed at the staff accommodation. One day my brother called me up and asked me to return home. When I refused, he was outraged and threatened to kill me saying ‘Consider your life is over'."
