A foreman of a company has been accused of forging documents and swindling Dh204,000 from his company, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.
HR, 33, owner of the company testified that NAO, the accused, had joined the company as a foreman a year back. He said “When I went to the construction company with whom we have a sub-contract to collect our dues, I was told that they have already handed over the money."
Investigations revealed that NAO submitted a forged copy of trade licence. “The copy stated that NAO is the owner of the company, so the company paid him the dues.”
NAO took advantage of the fact that the company’s name was the same as his family name.
Meanwhile, IM, 39, Syrian, CEO of the sub-contracting company, testified that he had informed NAO that the money would be handed to him only if he presented a copy of the company’s licence. NOA was handed over two cheques after he showed the required documents.
The court adjourned the case for verdict until June 26.
