Man gets one year and deportation for molestation

A court in Ajman sentenced an Asian man to one year in prison and ordered his deportation from the UAE after he was convicted of forcing a woman into his shop and molesting her, a newspaper said on Wednesday.

The unnamed woman said the defendant pushed her into his shop, locked the door and drew the curtains before grabbing her body.

“She told court that she tried to resist but could not because of his strong grip,” the semi official daily Alittihad said.

A court had earlier sentenced the 26-year-old defendant to three years in jail and deportation, prompting him to appeal the verdict.
